Top 5 Austin Wedding Venues

January 28, 2020

Filed in: Wedding

The first thing you’ll probably search for when you start wedding planning is your venue! The venue is a huge part of your wedding day. It sets the style of the day and is also one of the biggest investments. In a previous blog I shared what to look for in your wedding venue. Today I’m sharing some of my favorite venues to shoot at in the Austin Texas area. These venues are so beautiful and I highly recommend each of them! These are all venues I’ve photographed before so I know they are beautiful from a photography perspective!

Addison Grove

Addison Grove is probably one of the first venues I shot at in Austin when I was second shooting in the area. What I love most about Addison Grove are the huge windows that allow tons of natural light in the reception area. It also has 2 different ceremony spaces that have natural light and the dreamiest trees. There are plenty of outdoor areas for guests to relax and enjoy cocktail hour and the reception. The photo opportunities here are seriously endless. If you want dreamy glowy wedding portraits – you’ll find them here!

Barr Mansion

Barr Mansion is an Austin classic. I heard about it for years before I even started shooting – it’s legendary! The beautiful white historic house is where the getting ready and vendor rooms are. The porch is a stunning place for bridals, bridal party, first looks, etc. So many photo opportunities just in that one area. But, there’s also tons of beautiful trees and greenery! The reception venue has huge windows as well to allow natural light to flow through. I’ve always loved shooting at Barr Mansion!

Vintage Villas

If you want beautiful lake views and stunning ceremony sights – Vintage Villas is your venue. They have a gazebo with beautiful greenery on it that overlooks the lake and hills. Oh so beautiful! There’s a field for portraits and lots of trees and greenery around the site. The bridal party getting ready space also has windows with lots of natural light to make sure your getting ready photos are naturally lit and beautiful!

Canyonwood Ridge

Canyonwood Ridge boasts stunning views of the Austin hill landscape. The ceremony space is set on a cliff with hundreds of trees on the hills in the background. There’s also an inside ceremony space option with a white interior and large windows! The perfect option for an indoor ceremony or rainy day backup plan. The best part about this ceremony space is that it’s a separate chapel from the reception venue so you don’t have to worry about “flipping the room”. Canyonwood also has a beautiful getting ready room for brides that has windows for naturally lit portraits while you get in your dress. You’ll have endless photo options here!

Featherstone Ranch

Featherstone Ranch is not technically in Austin, but I just had to include it. This venue is only about an hour outside of Austin in Fredericksburg and it’s set on a winery! The landscape is stunning with gorgeous trees and fields. There’s a cute white chapel that is open air for a beautiful outdoor ceremony. The reception area is very spacious with big windows throughout for that natural lighting. There is also an outdoor section of the reception space to give your guests more room to mingle throughout the night.
