This post is all about my senior girls! I know how nerve-wracking it can be to be in front of the camera. For most of my seniors, their senior portrait session is the first time they are having professional pictures taken! I want to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible in front of my camera. So, I compiled this post of some of the poses to expect when you show up to your session. I will direct you throughout the whole session. I’ll tell you where to put your hands and where to look! So, it’s not necessary to do any prep in advance, but it might make you feel more comfortable to know what to expect.
Standing
Standing poses are the simplest. These are full-body portraits with you either popping one knee facing towards the side, or crossing your legs. Below are some of my favorite standing portraits!
Sitting
Sitting poses are where you are siting on steps or completely on the ground. You have to be wearing an outfit conducive for this, but these are such cute poses!
Close-ups
Close-ups are my personal favorites! These are the glamour shots that I love taking for my seniors. I feel like these photos really put the focus on the senior!
Walking
Walking photos are great to help loosen things up. It’s the easiest pose because you can be so natural and yourself. You don’t have to think about what you’re doing – just smile and walk towards the camera!
Conclusion
The most important tip I have for my seniors is to relax! Enjoy yourself – this is a fun experience and it’s my job to make sure you look your best. All you have to do is show up and be yourself!
