If you visit my apartment, you’ll see canvas photos from our wedding day and engagement session, framed prints of us with our college friends, and a beautiful album with images from our wedding day! I love displaying our pictures and I think it’s such a fun part of the whole photography experience. However, it can be so hard to know where to start! I deliver 800+ images to my wedding clients and it can be hard to decide which ones to print and how to display them. In this blog I’ll give some tips for different ways you can print and enjoy your photos after the session!
Albums
I offer wedding albums to my brides that they can purchase after I’ve delivered their online gallery. I offer linen covered wedding albums where you can select the color of linen and whether or not to add script to the cover. My process for designing albums is to first have the bride and groom select 60-80 images from their wedding day that they would like to include in the album. Then, I design the spreads and send them to the couple for review. At that point they can make any changes they would like to how the pictures are laid out. Once I get the final approval from the bride and groom on the spreads, I place the order and the couple has their album within 2 weeks!
Albums are a wonderful way to display many of your wedding photos in one place. It’s so fun to look back through your wedding album on your anniversary and to show it off to family and friends! I love looking through our album and reliving the fun of our wedding day!
Canvases
I have 4 canvases in our home of wedding and engagement pictures and I absolutely love them! I picked out my favorite photos and had those made into canvases. Ours are 16x20inches so they are pretty big and you wouldn’t want to overdo it with these! But having a few special canvases is a great way to decorate your home. I also encourage my couples to print a canvas of their engagement photos for decoration at the wedding reception. And, if the bride took any bridal portraits before her wedding day, usually she will print out a few of those for the reception space as well!
Save the Dates
Ordering save the dates is a way to share some of your engagement pictures with your family and friends when you announce your wedding date and invite your guests! I recommend ordering save the dates through mpix.com because they have high quality paper and fast turnaround times. They also have tons of cute designs to choose from! We used mpix for our save the dates and use them now for Christmas cards every year.
Prints
Sometimes it’s also nice to have a few prints displayed in frames for your home or office, or to give as gifts to family! I recommend ordering prints through mpix as well. Prints are extremely cheap so you can even buy a ton of them and save them in a box for when you want to look back on the memories! I recommend whenever ordering prints or cards to make sure you do not select the box that allows mpix to color correct your images because that will alter how the images are when delivered.
I hope this provides some useful information to all the brides who are hoping to display their new wedding photos! If you have any questions feel free to comment below.
