I am so excited for this blog post!! This past weekend I had the opportunity to visit Fredericksburg, VA for the first time for the Hope Taylor Photography Workshop! Hope is a super talented senior and wedding photographer and educator and I learned so much from her this weekend. We started the workshop with a meet and greet at a boutique and it was so nice to meet all of the other attendees before we started learning! I loved getting to know the other girls and support each others businesses!
Day 1 we learned all about the technical skills of photographing a wedding day and a senior session and then got to participate in a styled shoot! We got to hear about how Hope approaches both scenarios and also some of her tips and tricks to make sure she gives her clients the most beautiful photos possible! The styled shoot was insanely beautiful with a great team of vendors. If you scroll through this post you’ll see my photos from the wedding portion of the shoot and the senior portion of the day! I love styled shoots because I am able to focus on one thing at a time and what I focused on for this shoot was posing! I think it’s so important to make my clients feel confident and comfortable during a shoot and also to provide them with instruction on poses that will make them look natural and beautiful! Hope gave us some great tips for this and I will be implementing her posing workflow into my upcoming shoots 🙂
The second day we woke up refreshed and ready to learn about workflow and client experiences. Hope taught us about how she efficiently manages her time in order to deliver galleries quickly and also make her clients feel loved through the whole photography process. You can really tell how excited she is for her couples and seniors through how she talks about her experience! After learning about all things business, our time together was over and it was time to head back home to Texas. It was definitely a whirlwind of a weekend but I am so glad I made the time to go and can’t wait to implement all of the things I learned into my business this year!
